know what your talking about

just an FYI,

I'm a car person so I care about these things, but America did not invent the car! Karl Benz in Germany invented the car as we know it...
Henry Ford helped mass produce the car, Model T, bringing costs down and allowing more people to enjoy the pleasures of the auto in the USA...

Why am I blogging about this, something that I feel should be "common knowledge" ??? well a certain someone who should be in the know on things doesn't seem to know basic things and that is a very scary situation.

ok ok ok... you pay the gov too much!

OK, I want to set the record straight on the announced "Tax Cuts" today.

Basically, most people have an amount of their pay withheld by the government over a year, then at the end of that year... you "file" or ask to get the government to give you back what you over paid them. I think the average person overpays the government around $1,200 give or take in a year.

So today's announced "tax cuts" are not actually tax cuts in that you will be paying less to the government over a year. What today's announcement is and should be reported is this...

The government is lowering the amount a person is overpaying in taxes over a year... so at the end of the year the government will be giving you back less of your money (being as you didn't have to overpay them)... so next year instead of the average $1,200 back from the gov when you file... you'll get $800 or something.
Always remember... what you get back as a tax refund is your money that you let the government borrow interest free from you and you have to hope they let you have it back every year.

Also of note very soon, if you work in a small business, the average boss, or the owner of the small business will be paying 15 percent more in his taxes... wonder if business will pick up in time to make up the difference... seeing how the economy is forecast to retract 8 percent over the next year or so don't see how...

Archery Haiku

Archery, for me like driving, is not just a sport or hobby, but an active art, and expression of all the best things humanity has developed and become over the past 3000 years.

now some haiku for archery,

The weight of bow, string
balance and beauty within
an instrument, tool

The feel of the string
and the image of the flight
to find the target

The curve of the bow
the texture of the wood grain
and life force within

nope JJ, that was not what history says

Well, saw another trailer for the new trek movie on the way for this summer. In a way I know how Bond fans felt when the actors that play bond change... but its different what they are doing with new trek vs old trek, much more of an issue than just recasting. I know Bill Shat and Leonard will not be around forever, and the characters they helped bring to life can live on in other performers, like the Bonds have...

No, my problem is with the fact that so much of written ideas and character development is being thrown out to make a big budget shoot em up everyone will sleep with everyone else and things will get blown up type of thing. I could do 20 blogs on everything they are changing just based on that one promo during the super bowl.

One huge problem is with James Tiberius Kirk... he's made out to be this bad boy... breaks all the rules... well, this isn't the case with a young Kirk according the the original character development... he mentions in several episodes of the original series and the movies that he was a model student at his academy days, an "absolute bore" that was constantly tormented by Finnegan and other upper class man... and his first space assignments were not to Enterprise... but other ships... and for all get out I can't stress how incorrect building Enterprise on earth is!

o well... change for change sake, just hope its a good movie for Star Trek's future and in this movies defence if there can be one, visually it looks very nice, but sadly, I feel alot of older fans will catch it on DVD, if at all...
